West Virginia American Water Company is once again seeking a rate increase. The company filed for a 19.7 increase Friday with the state Public Service Commission.
The company says it has spent $85 million on repairs made to its system during the past three years. It says the rate hike will help it make up $24 million.
The PSC WVAWC a handful of increases over the last few years but hasn’t given the company as much as it’s wanted.
If this request is approved, the bill for the average customer would go up about $8.00 a month.
WVAWC is the largest water company in the state.
