Capito on Trump

WHITE SULPHUR SPRINGS, W.Va. — Donald Trump signed a pledge Thursday saying he would not run as a third-party candidate if he fails to secure the Republican presidential nomination.

West Virginia U.S. Senator Shelley Moore Capito commented on Trump’s campaign earlier Thursday during an appearance on MetroNews Talkline at the West Virginia Chamber of Commerce Business Summit at the Greenbrier Resort.

“When he comes on TV, of course he’s on all the time because he’s driving the ratings; I turn it up to see, ‘What in the heck is he going to say?’ It’s not what policies there are going to be. So it is a show in a lot of the sense and I’m interested to see it,” Capito said.

The senator wouldn’t say whom she is supporting for president. She did say she would support the Republican Party nominee.

“There’s lots of people there I can support and there are combinations there that could really be strong,” Capito said.
