ROMNEY, W.Va. — Three people were killed Wednesday in a head-on collision in Hampshire County, according to state police.

The vehicles collided on state Route 28 near Buffalo Hollow Road at about 4 p.m.

A vehicle driven by Margaret High was heading northbound when she crossed the center line of the roadway while negotiating a right hand curve and hit another vehicle heading southbound driven by Michael Steward head on, troopers said.

Both High and her passenger Samuel High were pronounced dead at the scene.

Steward was pronounced dead a short time later at Hampshire Memorial Hospital.
