CUMBERLAND, MD — A wanted Mineral County man was arrested in Maryland Monday night after a police chase involving several crashes.
According to Allegany County, Maryland sheriff’s deputies, at around 9:30 Monday night police were called out to a home in Oldtown, Md. for a report of a disturbance. While responding deputies learned Ronald Robinette, Jr., of Wiley Ford, had fled the scene.
Police located Robinette’s vehicle and attempted to make a traffic stop in a driveway when his vehicle hit an embankment and he fled the scene. A chase then began through Cumberland, Md.
Robinette struck a sheriff’s cruiser then ran a stop sign and hit another vehicle, police said.
While emergency crews were treating those involved in the crashes they learned there was a female passenger and a young child in Robinette’s vehicle.
Robinette fled the scene and was arrested without incident in a nearby apartment complex. He now faces assault, destruction of property and several traffic violations along with attempting to elude law enforcement.
Robinette is being held at the Allegany County Detention Center on $20,000 bail. He is also wanted in Mineral County on assault and burglary charges.
