Three arrested in Morgantown armed robbery

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — Three Harrison County men are facing charges in a Morgantown armed robbery investigation.

Officers were called to the apartment in the 200 block of Willey Street around 9:30 p.m. where the victim reported three white men had kicked his apartment door open and held him at gunpoint while they robbed the residence.

Officers and detectives identified a suspect vehicle which was stopped by the Granville Police Department around midnight, March 6, 2017.

Follow up investigation resulted in the arrest of the three suspects and the recovery of items stolen during the robbery.

Gordon Wade Swiger, 19 of Shinnston, was charged with first degree robbery and conspiracy to commit robbery.

Nickolas Lee Velez, 18 of Lumberport, was charged with first degree and conspiracy to commit robbery.

John Russel Skidmore, 23 of Clarksburg, was charged with first degree robbery and conspiracy to commit robbery.
