MARTINSBURG, W.Va. — Jefferson County Parks and Rec is getting ‘amped’ up for summer.
The Soaring into Summer event is set for May 4th at The Amp at Sam Michael’s Park. It’ll be the debut day for the park’s new amphitheater.
Parks and Rec Director Jennifer Myers told MetroNews affiliate WEPM the band Waterloo Revival will headline the musical performances.
“They’re kind of an up-and-coming pop country group. They’re fantastic.”
Myers said there will also be food trucks, craft vendors, drone exhibitions, a beer and wine garden, hot air balloon rides, weather permitting, and more musical entertainment, including a local band:
“The stage of course is the highlight, but we’ll have an afternoon (show). Jefferson High School’s steel drum band is going to kick of the event. They’re going to actually be the first group to play on The Amp.”
Soaring into Summer is set for May 4 from 1-8 pm at Sam Michael’s Park. Tickets are $15 in advance and $20 the day of the event. Kids 11 and under are free. Ages 12 to 17 are $5.
