CLARKSBURG, W.Va. – Multiple agencies converged on three locations in Clarksburg Wednesday and confiscated fentanyl, cash, a weapon and put three people behind bars.
Spokesman for the Greater Harrison County Drug and Violent Crimes Task Force, Bridgeport Police Chief John Walker said officers and agents seized approximately $10,079.00 in U.S. Currency, 1,277 stamps of Fentanyl and 1 Smith & Wesson .40 Caliber firearm. Reports indicate the deadly drug, fentanyl, was being brought to Harrison County from the Pittsburgh area.
“This is a step in the right direction, it certainly makes a dent,” Walker said,” But, it no way takes it off the street, we have to keep working on it.”
The Greater Harrison County Drug and Violent Crimes Task Force, DEA, ATF, Clarksburg Police, Bridgeport Police Department, Harrison County Sheriff’s Department, West Virginia State Police, Clarksburg Police Department and the Mountaineer Highway Interdiction Team South all participated in the operation.
“We try to get involved in these larger scale operations,” Walker said.” The communication was excellent and the event was without any injuries or concerns.”
According to the CDC, fentanyl is 100 times more powerful than morphine and more than 31,000 people died from overdose in 2018.
“If it escapes your control and gets into the air it can cause an officer or a civilian anywhere in the room, or even further distance to be harmed,” Walker said.” Or could overdose from it or even die from it.”
The following people are facing charges and have been arraigned by the magistrate:

William D. Aman, 31, of Johnson Avenue in Bridgeport
Wayne T. Wood III
