Condolences pour in after death of ‘Gramma’ from Harrison County’s ‘Gramma and Ginga’

HARRISON COUNTY, W.Va. — Funeral arrangements were being made this weekend for Genevieve Buttafusco Musci of Harrison County, better known as “Gramma” from “Gramma and Ginga,” two sisters whose recorded interactions went viral in social media posts.

Musci, age 106, died on Christmas, according to her family members.

Her survivors include “Ginga,” her sister, Arlene Cody Bashnett, age 101.

Together, the two sisters amassed millions of followers on Facebook and YouTube nationwide and globally when their other family members started posted their conversations and, at times, their arguments online.

They became celebrities, appearing on shows like “Jimmy Kimmel Live” and Steve Harvey’s “Little Big Shots.”

On Facebook, family members responded to thousands of condolences on Sunday with thanks.
