HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – Marshall’s weekend basketball series against Conference USA member Charlotte scheduled for Cam Henderson Center has been postponed in part because of the Coronavirus.
The postponement became official Wednesday due to Marshall not having enough student-athletes from COVID-19, contact tracing and injuries. Games were scheduled Friday at 6 p.m. and Saturday at 4 p.m.
Conference USA officials will work to reschedule the contests later this season.
The 49ers are 5-4, 1-1 in C-USA after a split last weekend at home against preseason league favorite Western Kentucky.
Marshall is 7-2, 1-1 after a weekend split at Louisiana Tech. The Thundering Herd’s next action will be against Western Kentucky on Jan. 14 in Bowling Green, Ky. Tip is 7 p.m.
