Police identify remains discovered in Morgantown

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — Authorities have identified remains found in a wooded area near the Decker’s Creek Rail-Trail and the I-68 overpass in an abandoned coke oven.

Morgantown police said the remains have been confirmed as Brandy Cullum, 26, of Parkersburg. Cullum had been missing since Sept. 4, 2020. The remains were discovered in October.

The West Virginia State Medical Examiner has determined the cause of her death to be from natural causes resulting from a preexisting medical condition. The investigation into this incident is closed.
