DHHR breaks down county vaccination numbers on new dashboard feature

CHARLESTON, W.Va. — More information is now available on the state Department of Health and Human Resources COVID-19 dashboard when it comes to vaccinations per county.

Bill Crouch, Secretary of the state Department of Health and Human Resources (DHHR), discussed the changes during a briefing with Gov. Jim Justice this week.

The new information includes an interactive county map under the vaccination tab that contains vaccines by age, race and sex for each county. Data also includes Key Metrics such as 65 age and older doses per 1,000, 65 and older doses administered, population and population percentage administered.

There is also a graph for vaccine administrations by day.

“What we have simply done is take that information and placed that in county buckets. This allows us to look at that information in more detail,” Crouch said.

As of the DHHR’s Thursday update, 255,950 first doses have been administered in West Virginia and 149,889 people have been fully vaccinated.

Kanawha County, the state’s most populous county, leads the state in vaccine doses administered with 55,903 total.
