Three arrested near University High School

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – An investigation into a suspicious vehicle resulted in a precautionary lockdown at University High School Monday morning.

Monongalia County Chief Deputy Mark Ralston said deputies made contact with the vehicle at the intersection of Baker’s Ridge and Point Marion roads near the school and determined two women in the car had outstanding warrants.

Ralston said Becca Payge Lank, 22, was wanted for gun charges and obstructing justice in Pennsylvania and Carrie Riley, 40, was wanted for West Virginia parole violations.

During the investigation a man who was a passenger in the car fled the vehicle on foot. He was captured a short time later.

The man has not been identified. Charges are pending, police said.

No injuries were reported.

The lockdown was lifted at UHS by late morning.
