SISSONVILLE, W.Va. — State Division of Natural Resources Police released the name Monday of the Kanawha County man who fell to his death last Friday afternoon while working on a tree stand not far from his home in the Sissonville area.
Investigators said Stephen Lee Dawson, 69, of Sissonville, died in the fall.
Dawson was found dead by a relative at an area along Broad Tree Run Road near Sissonville just before 6:30 p.m, Friday.
According to DNR police, the tree stand was about 20 to 25 feet in the air and there was a ladder at the scene.
Investigators said it was unclear from where Dawson fell and no way to determine how far he had fallen.
