MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — Baylor has been selected as the preseason favorite in Big 12 men’s basketball. The Bears [77 points] received five of the ten first-place votes from conference coaches. Defending national champion Kansas [74 points] received four first-place votes and the Jayhawks are second in the poll.

Texas [64 points] received the final first-place vote and the Longhorns are third. TCU is fourth. Oklahoma State and Texas Tech are tied for fifth place.
West Virginia [20 points] is ninth, eight points ahead of Kansas State. The Mountaineers finished tenth in the conference in the 2021-2022 season. WVU will host their annual Gold-Blue scrimmage Friday evening at the Coliseum. Their regular season begins on November 7 against Mount St. Mary’s.
