MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – A 59-year-old Morgantown man is facing multiple charges after an investigation into domestic dispute on Dawson Road.
Deputies from the Monongalia County Sheriff’s Department said a 13-year-old called for help Sunday after Charles Lee Dawson entered her home and threatened to kill everyone inside with a long knife.
Deputies and state police troopers surrounded the home and ordered Dawson out. Dawson came to the door but would not exit or comply with police, authorities said.
Troopers eventually were able to grab Dawson and pull him from the home. Outside Dawson continued to struggle with police, but was taken into custody.
Dawson has been charged with brandishing a deadly weapon, domestic assault, assault and obstructing officers.
Dawson has pleaded guilty to all charges and is being held in the North Central Regional Jail.
