Led by Stanford commit Irene Riggs, Morgantown is seeking their third consecutive Class AAA state championship. MHS placed four of their runners in the top six in last week’s Region I championship.

“There’s always been an emphasis on the end of the season, coming out and running well and running smart,” said Morgantown head coach Mike Ryan. “That’s what we have been building upon throughout the season. We’re excited to get down there to Ona. We’ve ran on the course before. We’ll talk about the course. We’ll do some visualization to get them mentally prepared to come out on race day for different scenarios. Hopefully, we’ll have some fun.”

All of the 2021 champions and runners-up have qualified full teams for this year’s event.
