MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — Check out a recap of significant results from around West Virginia in the tenth week of the high school football season.
Class AAA
Parkersburg South 32, Wheeling Park 27 — Robert Shockey scored a pair of rushing touchdowns as the “Battle of the Patriots” was won by Parkersburg South. Gage Wright rushed for 132 yards, including the go-ahead score for South (8-1). PSHS forced four turnovers and rallied back from a 21-10 deficit. South rushed for 204 yards in the second half. Cyrus Traugh returned a punt 90 yards for a touchdown.
Mykel Davis had a touchdown reception for WPHS (6-3).
Jefferson 54, Hedgesville 7

Bridgeport 62, Musselman 21 — The Indians scored the final 41 points of the game to improve to 7-2. Bridgeport ran for a season-best 541 yards over the Applemen (6-3).
Zach Rohrig scored three touchdowns, rushed for 252 yards and reeled in a pair of interceptions. Phil Reed rushed a dozen times for 119 yards and a score. Charlie Brazier, Ty Martin and Cam Martin also scored touchdowns for the visitors.
Spring Valley 26, Parkersburg 10 — The Timberwolves (7-2) bounced back from a defeat to GW with a 16-point win at Stadium Field.
Spring Valley led 7-3 at halftime and broke the game open in the third quarter with 9-yard touchdown runs from Jaylen Abercrombie and Cody Shy. Abercrombie also reeled in a 44-yard touchdown strike from Dalton Fouch. Parkersburg (4-5) outgained Spring Valley 333-275.
SV’s Garryk McFeeley led all players with 99 rushing yards on a game-high 17 carries. Shy added 81 yards on 10 rushes.
Parkersburg’s David Parsons passed for 245 yards and threw a touchdown to Anthony Ice in defeat.
Princeton 48, Greenbrier East 18 — The Tigers (6-2) backed up their road victory at Bridgeport last week with a 30-point win at home. Grant Cochran tossed four touchdown passes. Brodee Rice rushed for three touchdowns and added a touchdown reception. Dom Collins returned a kickoff for a score and also reeled in a pair of touchdowns.
Class AA
Independence 66, Wyoming East 0 — The Patriots (9-0) completed a perfect regular season. Judah Price found the end zone six times and broke the state’s single-season scoring record. He needed 19 points to pass Poca alumnus and Marshall running back Ethan Payne.

“You’ve got the front seven guys, our backs and wide receivers and they all block really well,” Price said on High School GameNight. “I thought they did really well tonight. I think we are picking up right where we left off last year.”
Winfield 34, Scott 14 — The Generals (8-1) secured the Cardinal Conference championship, thanks in large part to a 204-yard rushing performance from Bray Boggs.
Roane County 58, Ravenswood 13 — The Raiders (9-0) moved one win away from a perfect regular season. Roane scored on seven of their first eight possessions and rushed for 471 yards. Skylar Delk and Briar Begler reached went over the 1,000-yard mark in the victory.
Lincoln 34, Philip Barbour 21 — LHS (7-2) took a significant step towards clinching a second consecutive playoff berth by winning their fifth game in a row. Antwan Hilliard rushed for 279 yards and 4 touchdowns.
Class A
Williamstown 41, Doddridge County 14 — The Yellowjackets (8-1) bounced back from a loss to Fort Frye, Oh. and secured the Little Kanawha Conference Championship. Williamstown scored the first 34 points of the game. Harbour Haught returned a blocked punt for a touchdown.
Williamstown out-gained the Bulldogs 281-34 through two quarters in building a commanding lead.
Maxwell Molessa rushed for 129 yards in the win.
Doddridge got touchdown passes from Trenton Huffman to Seth Richards and Gabe Stewart in the fourth quarter.
Tucker County 26, Petersburg 13 — The Mountain Lions (9-0) are one win away from their second perfect regular season in the last eleven years. Ethan Rosenau passed for 298 yards and 3 touchdowns.
“We’ve only given up four passing touchdowns all year long. We knew we were up against it tonight with Petersburg. Their quarterback and their running back do a nice job there. That’s what we had to try to take away. We did that for the most part,” said Tucker County head coach A.J. Rapp.
Greenbrier West 21, Midland Trail 7 — Cole Vandall caught a touchdown pass and threw for another score as the Cavaliers improved to 8-1. Ty Nickell rushed for a score for GWHS.
Will McGraw had a touchdown run for the Patriots (5-4).
